Nicklas Johannes Hovgaard is a Danish contemporary artist, born in 2000 and based in Aalborg. His paintings are recognizable for their vibrant colours, atmospheric compositions and distinctive combination of spray paint, airbrush, acrylic and oil.
Inspired by music, popular culture and the aesthetics of the 1960s, Johannes often depicts crowds, concerts and social gatherings. His works explore the relationship between the individual and the crowd, capturing both the energy of being together and the sense of anonymity or isolation that can exist within a group.
Despite his young age, Johannes has already exhibited internationally, including in Denmark, Spain and New York, and is represented by HAGD Contemporary in Aalborg
