Jascha Froh

Jascha Froh is a German contemporary artist, born in 1993 and based in Berlin, where he studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). His practice spans oil painting, screen printing, drawing and sculptural objects.

At the heart of Froh’s work is an exploration of memory, forgetting and the traces left behind by everyday experiences. Figures and images often appear faded, partially erased or dissolving, creating works that feel as though they are caught somewhere between a memory and its disappearance. Surface, repetition and the process of painting over or removing imagery play an important role in his visual language.

His work often has a quiet, minimalist and introspective quality, dealing with themes of communication, isolation and the way memories change over time. Earlier works also feature recurring characters such as ducks and rabbits, used as subtle vehicles for exploring human emotions.

Froh has exhibited internationally, including in Berlin, New York and Aalborg. In 2026, he presented the solo exhibition Books I Didn’t Read, Letters I Didn’t Send at HAGD Contemporary in Aalborg, exploring ideas of blocked communication, memory and withdrawal
